Orphan Heart is a Portuguese alternative metal band from Lisbon, Portugal, established in 2022. The band, composed of the musicians Alexandru Ianov, Bernardo Gonçalves, Júlio Mazzeu and Filipe Merli, released their first single “UMBRA” in March 2023. Music was part of the band members' lives since they were quite young. Alexandru Ianov started learning to play the guitar from a very young age, and although this was also the instrument of choice for Bernardo Gonçalves, it was in the lower sounds of the bass that he felt the greatest connection with music, having then started to learn to play this instrument. The group got together in 2020 when all members realized that they had similar interests and a common goal: to be drivers of metal music in Portugal.
